Znalytics, the fast-growing provider of cloud-native retail energy solutions based in Atlanta, GA, is pleased to announce it has become part of the Agility CIS group, a market-leading provider of utility billing and customer experience solutions globally. The new ownership will enable Znalytics to accelerate its growth in the United States and Japan as well as the development of new client solutions.
The Founders of Znalytics, CEO Mari Reddy and President Subash Sama, are continuing with the company post acquisition and will lead the business in the United States and Japan. Agility intends to retain the Znalytics brand in the near term in association with the Agility brand to drive growth in those markets.
Founded just over five years ago in Atlanta, Georgia, Znalytics is a fast-growing, SaaS company servicing utility retailer clients across the USA and Japan. It also has a significant developer-focused team based in Hyderabad, India.
Agility is a leading provider of cloud-based utility billing and customer experience solutions with expertise honed over more than 20 years operating in the world’s first deregulated utility markets. Founded in New Zealand in 1998, Agility has the #1 market position in Australia (with more energy retailer clients than any competitor) and has strong client portfolios in New Zealand/Pacific Islands and the Middle East, as well as a fast-growing presence in the United States based out of Houston, TX. Agility adds substantial scale to Znalytics and the companies are highly complementary in terms of technology, product development, sales & marketing and industry expertise.
Agility CIS is a privately held company backed by UK-based SilverTree Equity and New Zealand’s Pioneer Capital. Since the acquisition by the private equity firms in November 2019, SilverTree and Pioneer have demonstrated their commitment to Agility’s growth and client success through significant investments in its people, products, and services.
The United States and Japanese markets represent excellent growth opportunities for Agility and Znalytics, as ongoing deregulation encourages new energy retailers to enter the market as well as existing retailers to expand into new geographies. Japan is now the world’s largest deregulated energy market, with over 86 million customer meters and approximately 600 retail energy providers now active.
“By leveraging the scale and expertise of Agility, backed by the strategic and financial commitment of SilverTree Equity and Pioneer Capital, we can accelerate our product pipeline, provide more value to our existing clients and pursue exciting growth opportunities in our chosen markets,” said Mari Reddy.
David Forsyth, Agility CEO, said “Znalytics is a superb fit with Agility and is a strategic acquisition that broadens and strengthens Agility’s global reach and technology. Znalytics enhances Agility’s product offering with new energy internet of things solutions and provides Agility with strengthened delivery capability to manage large, complex migrations and implementations through a best-in-class India-based delivery centre.”
“Mari, Subash and their colleagues bring deep utilities and software expertise and complementary skills to Agility’s existing leadership. We thrilled they are joining Agility’s global team.”
Nicholas Theuerkauf, the Managing Partner of SilverTree Equity, added: “Znalytics is highly complementary – the acquisition aligns with Agility’s strategy to significantly accelerate growth in the United States, focus on SaaS solutions, and enter attractive new markets. The acquisition also underscores SilverTree’s commitment to strengthening Agility’s leadership position in the industry both organically and through acquisition.”
Znalytics was founded in November 2014 by CEO Mari Reddy and President Subash Sama, who head a leadership team with over 100 years of combined experience in the retail energy industry. Znalytics supports retail energy providers with a range of SaaS solutions including billing, customer enrolment, custom pricing and reporting/analytics. Znalytics’ market-leading Cloud-native billing solution leverages modern Cloud technology with a range of features that provide superior scalability, security and performance to drive efficiencies for its clients.
